May's Anchor - Guilty Gear XX
This was quite a tough one. I made this for my May cosplay during Cosfest 2005 in Singapore. It had to be light and yet durable and yet does not look overly sucky. I used layers of styrofoam/polystyrene (because shops just don't sell them in big fat chunks), illustration board, pvc pipe, a plastic ring from a "ring-toss" toy, a hell lot of duct tape, newspaper and black spray paint. It was light, durable and made it across the border...although the customs were giving curious stares. The downside is that the paint flakes a lot and gets on my hands.
